CANYON, Texas – The #7 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M forced 17 turnovers and held the Florida Tech Panthers to a shooting percentage of 19.7% on Sunday afternoon in a 62-33 victory during the Tampa Holiday Classic at the Bob Martinez Athletics Center on the campus of the University of Tampa.
 
Azia Himeur led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs as the sophomore from Albuquerque went 5-of-11 from the floor including 3-of-7 from deep for a game-high 13 points to go along with six rebounds and two assists. 
Lauren Taylor finished in double-figures as the junior went 4-of-11 from the field for 10 points while 
Nyalam Thabach was just shy of a double-double with nine points and 11 boards.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the game going 22-of-58 (37.9%) from the field including 9-of-34 (26.5%) from behind the arc and 9-of-14 (64.3%) from the free throw line to go along with 54 rebounds (15 offensive, 39 defensive), 16 assists, 18 turnovers, five blocks and nine steals.
 
Aiste Vaitekunaite led the way for the Panthers as the Lithuania product went 3-of-9 from the floor including 3-of-4 from deep for a team-high 10 points to go along with eight rebounds, one block and one steal. FIT finished the afternoon going 12-of-61 (19.7%) from the floor including 5-of-20 (25%) from deep and 4-of-8 (50%) from the free throw line with 37 rebounds (13 offensive, 24 defensive), six assists, 17 turnovers, three blocks and seven steals.
 
WT closes out their Florida road trip with a Top-10 showdown on Monday afternoon as they take on the #9 Tampa Spartans with tipoff set for 1:00 p.m. CT to close out the Tampa Holiday Classic.
