WT Volleyball Welcomes Eastern New Mexico for Lone Star Conference Action

CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs will close their three-match homestand on Wednesday night as they welcome Eastern New Mexico to The Box.  First serve is set for 6 p.m. in Canyon. 
 
EASTERN NEW MEXICO
ENMU comes to Canyon 1-11 and 1-3 in Lone Star Conference play with its lone victory over Texas A&M-Commerce.  The Greyhounds average 10.7 kills per set along with 9.7 assists while recording 12.6 digs and 1.9 blocks under eighth-year head coach Sia Poyer. 
 
Jasmine Gannon leads the Greyhounds offense with 2.8 kills along with 2.82 digs per set while Jordan O'Connor-Dempsey supports the defense with .82 blocks. 
 
LAST TIME OUT
The Lady Buffs recorded a pair of victories at home this past weekend sweeping UT Permian Basin before defeating Western New Mexico, 3-1. Torrey Miller recorded 24 kills while Sadie Snay led the offense with 59 assists.  Chandler Vogel recorded 24 digs for the Lady Buffs defense and Marjani Stanfill had a team-high seven blocks. 
 
SETTER OF THE WEEK
Sadie Snay was named the LSC Setter of the Week for the second time in her career as the Kingman, Arizona product dished out 59 assists (8.43/set) with two kills, 10 digs and two assisted blocks for three points in the pair of victories.  
 
STAPLE IN THE BACK ROW
Three-time reigning Lone Star Conference Libero of the Year Chandler Vogel returns for her senior season with 2, 310 career digs as the Hereford High School product now ranks second as she is on pace to challenge Lauren Beville's (2009-12) all-time career mark of 2,423. Vogel has seen time in 445 sets for the Lady Buffs over the last five seasons in Canyon as she has started 123 matches in the back row over that span.
 
AVCA DII TOP-25 POLL
For the fifth week in a row, WT has received votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association Top-25 Poll.  Washburn stayed atop the standings followed by MSU Denver, Angelo State, Concordia-St. Paul, and Central Missouri. 
 
WT HEAD COACH KENDRA POTTS
Kendra Potts enters her third season at the helm of Lady Buff Volleyball with an overall 42-13 record.  Potts led her alma mater to the South Central Regional Quarterfinals during her first season in 2019 to become just the fourth head coach in program history to guide WT to the NCAA Tournament during their first season.
 
WELCOME TO THE BOX
West Texas A&M is fortunate to have one of the best home environments in all of NCAA Volleyball. The WTAMU Fieldhouse is more affectionately known as "The Box," is home to 19 Lone Star Conference Championships, 13 Regional Titles and three NCAA Division II National Championships. 
 
The Box boasts one of the best home winning records in the NCAA on any level of competition. The Lady Buffs are 497-82 at The Box since the 1980 season for an incredible winning percentage of 85.8%.

WT will take a break from LSC play this weekend before returning to action on Oct. 8 with a match against St. Mary's before facing St. Edward's on Oct. 9.
