Benjamin Azamati returned to the track at the 2020 Olympics helping Ghana's 4x100-meter relay break the national record and qualify for Friday's final.
Azamati along with Sean Safo-Antwi, Emmanuel Yeboah and Joseph Paul Amoah ran 38.08 to finish .02 ahead of the United States to secure the final spot into the final. The freshman ran the second leg on the relay that broke the previous Ghana record that had stood since August 9, 1997.
The final is scheduled for Friday, Aug. 6, at 8:50 a.m. where the quartet will look to win Ghana's first ever medal in track & field.
