CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M will host its annual Spring Game on Saturday, April 17, at 6 p.m. at Buffalo Stadium. Admission is free to all fans, students and alumni with gates opening at 5 p.m.
Saturday's game will mark the first spring game at Buffalo Stadium after the 2020 edition was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The two teams selected by Director of Sports Medicine Luke Kasper and Assistant Athletic Performance Coach Ben Kozak will play four-quarter game with a running clock. Â
Cooper Bassett will be the offensive coordinator for the Team Maroon with JT Haddan calling plays for the defensive. The offense will be led by Caleb Arreola and Brett Leach along with Khalil Harris, Jarrod Compton and Kenneath Redd Jr. Jaylan Hill, Henry Vornkahl and Xavier Rivera highlight a strong defensive line for Haddan and Team Maroon.Â
Will Wagner was selected as the defensive coordinator for Team White with Christian LeMay calling plays for an offensive that feature Nick Gerber, Zane Madison and Adam Alcorta. The defense will be led by Christopher Thomas, Tre'Von Mosley, Ashton Reynolds and Satchel Escalante.Â
Fans attending the game are encouraged to practice social distancing and wear masks except when eating and drinking.Â
