TYLER, Texas – The #22 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M picked up their ninth consecutive win on Tuesday night as they topped the Texas A&M International Dustdevils (25-20, 19-25, 25-19, 25-17) in the opening round of the 2021 Lone Star Conference Volleyball Championship at the Herrington Patriot Center in Tyler, Texas.

Torrey Miller led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs as the sophomore registered 18 kills on 51 swings with six attack errors to hit .235 on the night to go along with 14 digs for the double-double,
Kayla Elliott registered 12 kills and a .500 attack percentage while
Sadie Snay dished out 46 assists with 10 digs in the win.
Chandler Vogel led the way in the back row with 16 digs followed by
Emma Patterson with 15.

WT moves to 47-10 all-time in the LSC Championship as they tallied 57 kills on 145 attempts with 21 attack errors to hit .248 as a team with 51 assists, eight service aces, 80 digs and eight blocks on the night.

Texas A&M International was led by Mackenzie Catalina with a match-high 19 kills on 51 swings with just two attack errors to hit .333 with 13 digs for a double-double. Maison Kosse dished out 34 assists while Regina Tijerina led all players with 25 digs in the loss. TAMIU registered 44 kills on 164 attempts with 17 errors to hit .165 as a team with 40 assists, four aces, 62 digs and nine blocks.

The Lady Buffs advance to tomorrow's quarterfinal round to face off with the unbeaten and #14 UT Tyler Patriots with first serve set for 6 p.m. in East Texas.
