CANYON, Texas – The #10 Buffaloes of West Texas A&M broke the game open in the eighth inning with five runs as they took the series finale from the Oklahoma Christian Eagles, 11-5 to complete the Lone Star Conference weekend sweep at Dobson Field in Edmond, Oklahoma.

The Eagles jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the home half of the first inning as Michael DiFiore lifted a two-run homerun to left field. WT cut into the lead in the second as
Izaiah Madrid drew an RBI walk with the bases loaded and two outs to score
Kennedy Badgett followed by an OC fielding error to plate two more and give WT the 3-2 lead.

OC tied up the game in the bottom of the third as Chance Westervelt grounded out to
Keone Givens at second to score Cole Lee and make it 3-3. The Buffs responded in the fourth as
Jonah Gonzales doubled to left to score Madrid and
Cade Engle followed by a Givens RBI single to right to make it 6-3. OC's Grant Lake doubled to left center in the fourth to score Coleton Hinkle to cut the lead to 6-4.

The Eagles made it a one-run game in the sixth as Blake Empkey homered to left field with one out at 6-5. The Buffs put the game out of reach in the eighth as they plated five runs on three hits to go along with six walks. Givens singled to left to score Madrid followed by a balk that plated Gonzales, Givens would score on a wild pitch followed by a
Ryan Johnson RBI double and a
Reese Patterson RBI single to make it 11-5.

Chandler Dean picked up the win (2-0) on the mound for the Buffs, allowing two earned runs on seven hits with no walks and four strikeouts in his four innings of relief.

The Buffs return to Wilder Park next weekend as they host the St. Mary's Rattlers in Lone Star Conference action beginning on Friday night with first pitch scheduled for 7 p.m. in Canyon.
