Charity Stripe Lifts the #5 Lady Buffs to Their 12th Straight Win

CANYON, Texas – The #5 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M connected 26 times from the free throw line on Tuesday night to run their win streak to 12 games with a 52-44 victory over the Texas Woman's Pioneers in Lone Star Conference crossover action at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.
 
Lexy Hightower led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs as the senior went 3-of-10 from the floor and a perfect 9-of-9 from the free throw line for a team-high 16 points to go along with one assist and three steals followed by Braylyn Dollar with 12 points and four boards.
 
The Lady Buffs finished the night going 12-of-42 (28.6%) from the field including 2-of-22 (9.1%) from deep and 26-of-32 (81.3%) from the charity stripe with 32 total rebounds (seven offensive, 25 defensive), seven assists, 12 turnovers, four blocks and 11 steals.
 
Texas Woman's was led by Scout Huffman who went 7-of-12 from the floor and 4-of-4 from the free throw line for a game-high 18 points followed by Sadie Moyer with 13 points and 14 rebounds for a double-double. TWU finished the game 16-of-54 (29.6%) from the floor including 2-of-12 (16.7%) from behind the arc and 10-of-13 (76.9%) from the free throw line with 42 rebounds (15 offensive, 27 defensive), 12 assists, 17 turnovers, no blocks and five steals.

The Lady Buffs took a 26-24 lead into the locker room as they went 8-of-21 (38.1%) from the floor including 0-of-8 from deep and 10-of-11 (90.9%) from the free throw line with 15 total rebounds (three offensive, 12 defensive), three assists, nine turnovers, three blocks and six steals. TWU finished the half going 8-of-29 (27.6%) from the floor including 1-of-4 (25%) from behind the arc and 7-of-9 (77.8%) from the charity stripe with 21 rebounds (10 offensive, 11 defensive), six assists, nine turnovers, no blocks and three steals.
