Abby Spurgin became the 24
th member of the 1,000 Career Point Club on Friday night but a season-high 35 turnovers led to 32 Cameron points to snap WT's 12-game win streak with a 72-66 overtime loss to the Aggies during Lone Star Conference crossover action.
Spurgin led the way offensively for the Lady Buffs as the Fredericksburg product went 6-of-10 from the floor for a team-high 12 points followed by
Jillian Sowell (11) ad
Lauren Taylor (10) in double figures. Taylor grabbed 10 rebounds for her first double-double in Maroon & White while
Lexy Hightower and
Braylyn Dollar dished out three assists each. Spurgin registered three blocks to move into 2
nd place on WT's all-time list with 199, passing Alicia Saunders (198 / 2004-07).
The Lady Buffs finished the night going 24-of-52 (46.2%) from the floor including 7-of-22 (31.8%) from deep and 11-of-16 (68.8%) from the free throw line to go along with 50 rebounds (13 offensive, 37 defensive), 16 assists, 35 turnovers, five blocks and four steals.
Cameron was led by Maighan Hedge who went 5-of-8 from the floor and a perfect 3-of-3 from behind the arc for a game-high 17 points. The Aggies finished the game going 25-of-69 (36.2%) from the field including 7-of-23 (30.%) from behind the arc and 15-of-21 (71.4%) from the charity stripe with 27 rebounds (nine offensive, 18 defensive), 14 assists, 10 turnovers, three blocks and 22 steals.

The Lady Buffs trailed (29-26) for the first time all season heading into the locker room as they went 8-of-18 (44.4%) from the floor including 2-of-6 (33.3%) from deep and 8-of-11 (72.7%) from the free throw line with 19 rebounds (three offensive, 16 defensive), five assists, 16 turnovers, two blocks and three steals. Cameron went 10-of-30 (33.3%) from the field including 3-of-12 (25%) from behind the arc and a perfect 6-of-6 from the charity stripe with 12 rebounds (four offensive, eight defensive), three assists, seven turnovers, no blocks and 10 steals.
