CANYON, Texas – The #11 Buffaloes of West Texas A&M ran their win streak to five games on Sunday afternoon as they completed the weekend Lone Star Conference sweep of the UT Permian Basin Falcons at Wilder Park in Canyon.

The Falcons got on the board in the top of the fourth inning as Jay Desoto tripled off of the left field wall with one out to score Nick Hernandez for the 1-0 lead.

WT responded in the home half of the frame as
Kyle Moos drew a leadoff walk followed by a
Will Fuenning double down the right field line to put a pair in scoring position. The Buffs took advantage of three Falcon errors in the frame to go along with a
Keone Givens RBI triple to the gap in left center to make it 4-1. The Buffs added to their lead in the fifth with a Fuenning RBI single up the middle to plate
Kennedy Badgett at 5-1.

The Buffs loaded the bases in the sixth as Badgett singled up the middle to score
Izaiah Madrid and run the lead to 6-1. WT added to their lead in the seventh as
Cade Engle was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to score Moos and make it 7-1.Â

WT loaded the bases again in the eighth as Fuenning lifted a sac fly to right to score
Abel Pena followed later in the frame by a Madrid RBI single thru the left side to run the lead to 9-1.Â

Todd Danzeisen picked up the win (2-0) on the mound for the Buffs as the senior lefty allowed just one earned run on one hit with four walks and six strikeouts in his seven innings of work.
Jake Suddreth and
Justin Zamora both tossed scoreless frames for the Buffs to close out the win.
