2021:
Pena saw time in 24 games with 12 starts for the Buffs during the 2021 campaign. The Corpus Christi native hit .264 with two doubles to drive in 11 RBI with nine walks for an on-base percentage of .359. Defensively he registered three putouts with a perfect fielding percentage.

At UT Rio Grande Valley:
Pena came to Canyon following one season at the University of Texas of the Rio Grande Valley in Edinburg, Texas.

At Western Texas College:
Pena spent two seasons at Western Texas College in Snyder where he played in the outfield for the Westerners under head coach Kenny Jackson. He hit .416 as a sophomore in 2019 with 22 doubles, two triples and seven homeruns to drive in 31 RBI for a slugging percentage of .670 to go along with 14 stolen bases. As a true freshman in 2018, Pena hit .424 with 10 doubles, three triples and three homeruns to drive in 45 RBI.

At King High School:
Pena graduated from King High School in Corpus Christi, Texas in 2017 where he played first base and the outfield for the Mustangs under head coach Gabriel Perez. He was an All-South Texas selection during his senior season while also being named a Preseason Hooks All-Star honoree.

Personal:
Born November 4, 1998. Son of Abel and Michelle Pena and he has one sister, Miranda. Majoring in Criminal Justice at West Texas A&M.
