Cavender and Harris Claim D2CCA All-Region Honors

CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M's JT Cavender and Tobias Harris have been honored for their efforts on the gridiron as members of the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association (D2CCA) All-South Central Region First Team announced on Thursday morning. Both Buffs now move onto the D2CCA All-American ballot.
 
Cavender proved himself as one of the top linebackers in the country this past season, registering 108 total tackles (4.5 for loss) to go along with a sack, one interception and a forced fumble. The Midlothian product finished the regular season ranked 24th in Division II football in total tackles (108) while also sitting eighth in the nation in solo tackles (72) as he was named the LSC Linebacker of the Year as well as the LSC Defensive Freshman of the Year.
 
Harris continue to be an offensive coordinator's nightmare as the Pflugerville, Texas product picked up First Team All-Lone Star Conference accolades during his junior campaign. He has registered 16 career interceptions which ranks second all-time at West Texas A&M. Harris finished the regular season tied for third nationally with six interceptions while also finishing third in interceptions per game (0.7) and second in picks returned for touchdowns (two).
