Complete 2022 Schedule
CANYON, Texas – Coming off the program's second NCAA Division II National Championship, the West Texas A&M Lady Buffs and head coach
Michael Mook announced the team's 2022 schedule. The 2022 schedule features 46 regular season games with 22 of those played at Schaeffer Park.
The Lady Buffs will open the season with three tournaments to prepare for conference play starting with the Gulf Shores Tournament (Feb. 4-6) in Gulf Shores, Ala., where they will take on Delta State, West Florida, Valdosta State, West Alabama and Barry.
They will then travel down Interstate 27 for the annual LCU Invitational on Feb. 11-13. The Lady Buffs will face region rivals Fort Lewis, Colorado School of Mines, Colorado Christian, UCCS and Chadron State.
The following weekend, Feb. 22-23, they will complete preseason play on Feb. 18-20 when they host the WT Invitational. The two-day event will feature Texas A&M-Commerce, Northern State, Adams State, and Fort Lewis.
WT will open its home slate with a doubleheader against UT Tyler on March 4 to kick off Lone Star Conference Action followed by a doubleheader against Texas A&M-Commerce on March 6.
WT will head back down I-27 to Lubbock, Texas for a match up with Lubbock Christian (March 11) before a trip to San Angelo to face Angelo State (March 13). After facing the Rambelles, WT will return to Schaeffer Park for a pair of doubleheaders against Texas A&M International (March 18) and Texas A&M-Kingsville (March 20).
The Lady Buffs will continue their conference schedule when they hit the road to take on St. Edward's (March 25) and St. Mary's (March 27) followed by a four-game homestand. WT will welcome Cameron to Schaeffer Park on April 1 followed by doubleheaders against Oklahoma Christian (April 3), Midwestern State (April 8) and Texas Woman's (April 10).
A trip to Odessa, Texas, to face UT Permian Basin (April 22) is followed by a a doubleheader with Western New Mexico (April 10). The Maroon and White will finish the regular season on the road In Portales at Eastern New Mexico on April 30.
The LSC Championships opening round will begin on May 5, with the NCAA South Central Regionals on March 12-14. The NCAA Super Regionals will kick off on May 19, with the DII Women's College World Series returning to Denver, Colo. on May 26-30 at the Regency Athletic Complex.
