CANYON, Texas – The #15 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M had nine different players score a point while holding the St. Edward's Hilltoppers to a shooting percentage of 30.9% on Monday night to run WT's win streak to seven games during Lone Star Conference crossover action at the First United Bank Center.
Abby Spurgin led the way for the Lady Buffs as the senior post went 7-of-16 from the floor and 3-of-4 from the free throw line for a game-high 17 points to go along with five rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal.
Madison Kast finished the night with a career-high 12 points on 5-of-7 shooting with two of those coming behind the arc,
Braylyn Dollar finished just two boards shy of a double-double with 11 points and eight rebounds.
The Lady Buffs went 32-of-54 (59.3%) from the field including 5-of-10 (50%) from deep and 8-of-13 (61.5%) from the free throw line with 39 rebounds (eight offensive, 31 defensive), 21 assists, 18 turnovers, eight steals and three blocks.
SEU was led offensively by D'aviyon Magazine who went 3-of-4 from the floor and 2-of-3 from long range for a team-high eight points to go along with two steals. The Hilltoppers finished the game going 17-of-55 (30.9%) from the floor including 3-of-10 (30%) from deep and 5-of-9 (55.6%) from the charity stripe with 24 rebounds (eight offensive, 16 defensive), 11 assists, 18 turnovers, 10 steals and two blocks.
KEY MOMENTS
- The two teams struggles from the floor to start the game as they combined for six early turnovers while splitting the first 16 points of the game
- WT went on a 9-0 run as buckets highlighted by five points from Madison Kast as they forced an SEU timeout holding the 17-8 lead

The Lady Buffs took a 39-19 lead into the locker room for halftime as they went 17-of-25 (68%) from the field including 3-of-5 (60%) from deep and 2-of-4 (50%) from the free throw line to go along with 21 rebounds (three offensive, 18 defensive), 11 assists, 11 turnovers, four steals and two blocks. SEU finished the half shooting 8-of-30 (26.7%) from the floor including 2-of-6 (33.3%) from long range and 1-of-2 (50%) from the free throw line with just nine rebounds (four offensive, five defensive), six assists, eight turnovers, seven steals and no blocks.
