Tough Defense Sends the #22 Lady Buffs to Saturday’s LSC Semifinals, 70-46

FRISCO, Texas – #22 West Texas A&M had 10 different players register a point while out-rebounding the St. Edward's Hilltoppers by 25 boards on Thursday afternoon as the Lady Buffs rolled to a 70-46 victory in the 2020 Lone Star Conference Quarterfinals at the Comerica Center in Frisco, Texas.

- The Lady Buffs were led by Abby Spurgin who went 6-of-11 from the floor and 3-of-4 from the charity stripe to finish the afternoon with 15 points for the junior's 13th straight contest in double-figures, Sienna Lenz finished the afternoon with 12 points followed by Nathalie Linden with nine.
- St. Edward's was led offensively by LSC Newcomer of the Year Deijah Blanks who went 9-of-15 from the floor including 2-of-2 from the free throw line for a game-high 21 points while grabbing four rebounds to go along with two steals and one assist, Charlie Becker went 4-of-11 from the floor and 1-of-2 from deep to finish the game with 10 points and four steals.
 
FIRST HALF
- The Lady Buffs went 14-of-28 (50%) from the floor including 2-of-6 (33.3%) from deep and 1-of-2 (50%) from the charity stripe with 23 rebounds (five offensive, 18 defensive), seven assists, 10 turnovers, four steals and four blocks.
- SEU finished the first half going 7-of-28 (25%) from the field including 2-of-8 (25%) from behind the arc and 5-of-6 (83.3%) from the free throw line with 12 rebounds (three offensive, nine defensive), two assists, six turnovers, five steals and four blocks.
 
SECOND HALF
- WT went 30-fo-55 (54.5%) from the field including 3-of-9 (33.3%) from behind the arc and 7-of-9 (77.8%) from the free throw line to go along with 46 rebounds (11 offensive, 35 defensive), 16 assists, 22 turnovers, eight steals and four blocks on the afternoon.
- The Hilltoppers finished the game going 18-of-60 (30%) from the floor including 3-of-19 (15.8%) from deep and 7-of-8 (87.5%) from the charity stripe with 21 rebounds (seven offensive, 14 defensive), five assists, 13 turnovers, nine steals and four blocks in the loss.
