RESULTS
CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M had a successful trip down to Texas Tech on Feb. 1-2 where they won High Point Team during Saturday's western competition. They also won Reserve High Point Team honors on Sunday competing against student-athletes from North Texas, North Central Texas, Oklahoma Panhandle State, Schreiner, Texas Tech, Tarleton, Oklahoma and Southern Nazarene.
On Saturday, the Lady Buffs won High Point Team honors while Kendall Woellmer won Reserve High Point Rider after finishing first in horsemanship and second in open reining. Reilly Dhaliwal also finished first in horsemanship alongside Woellmer.
Bailey Summers (Level II Horsemanship), Madelyn Cope (Level I Horsemanship), Savannah Rampy (Level I Horsemanship), Alison Olsen (Rookie Horsemanship), Kylie McEuen (Rookie Horsemanship), Macy French (Rookie Horsemanship), Sydney Mayo (Rookie Horsemanship) and Jordan Schneider (Beginner Horsemanship) all picked up victories on the first day of competition.
Rayleigh Rowell won Reserve High Point honors on Sunday as the Lady Buffs were named the Reserve High Point Team. The senior won open reigning and finished second in open horsemanship. Woellmer picked up a victory in open horsemanship with Emma Ferguson (Level I Horsemanship), Olsen (Rookie Horsemanship), Mayo (Rooke Horsemanship), Schneider (Rookie Horsemanship) and Rileigh Mumublo (Beginner Horsemanship) also earning victories in their respective events.
The Lady Buffs return to action on Feb. 15-16 when they host their first Western competition of the season at the WTAMU Horse Center.
