LUBBOCK, Texas – West Texas A&M won five events en route to winning their fourth straight Hunt Seat regional title on Sunday afternoon at the Texas Tech Equestrian Center in Lubbock.Â
Megan Descheneaux (open equitation on the flat) Kylie McEuen (limit equitation over fences), Sydney Mayo (limit equitation on the flat), Joy Hiller (intermediate equitation on the flat), Rea Golt (introductory equitation on the flat) and Kira Morris (novice equitation on the flat) all won their respective events while Rayleigh Rowell (intermediate equitation on the flat) and Catie McCharen (novice equitation on the flat) being named reserve region champions.
They earned High Point Team honors on Friday and Reserve High Point Team honors on Saturday. Descheneaux (open equitation on the flat), Ava Charrlin (intermediate equitation over fences), Hiller (intermediate equitation on the flat), McEuen (limit equitation over fences) , Madelyn Cope (novice equitation on the flat), McCharen (novice equitation on the flat) and Kristin Hamilton (prenovice equitation on the flat) all picked up victories on Friday to help the Lady Buffs earn High Point Team recognition for the sixth time this season.
Golt (prenovice equitation on the flat) and Jordan Schneider (introductory on the flat) finished first in their respective events on Saturday while Lillian Fisher (novice equitation on the flat), Hiller (limit equitation over fences/intermediate equitation on the flat), Karis Blankenship (intermediate equitation over fences), Mayo (open equitation over fences) finish second.Â
The Lady Buffs will travel to El Reno, Okla. on March 21-22 to compete in the Western Semifinals. Â
