CANYON, Texas – The #20 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M trailed by as many as 10 points in the third quarter before battling back to force overtime but costly turnovers handed WT their first home loss of the season, 52-49 against the Tarleton Texans in Lone Star Conference crossover action at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lady Buffs were led by
Abby Spurgin who went 7-of-15 from the floor and 3-of-4 from the free throw line for a game-high 17 points to go along with seven rebounds, two steals and four blocks.
Delaney Nix went 4-of-8 from behind the arc and 2-of-2 from the charity stripe as the sophomore finished the game with 14 points and five boards.
- Tarleton was led offensively by Mackenzie Hailey as the senior went 6-of-15 from the floor and 3-of-4 from the free throw line for a team-high 15 points to go along with 10 rebounds, three steals and a block for the double-double followed by Kylie Collins with nine points and four boards.

- The Lady Buffs went 8-of-24 (33.3%) from the field in the first half including 3-of-8 (37.5%) from deep and 3-of-4 (75%) from the charity stripe with 14 rebounds (five offensive, nine defensive), five assists, 13 turnovers, seven steals and one block.
- TSU finished the first half going 12-of-24 (50%) from the floor including 2-of-5 (40%) from behind the arc and 0-of-2 from the free throw line with 16 rebounds (four offensive, 12 defensive), six assists, 13 turnovers, four steals and three blocks.
