COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.  – The No. 10 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M suffered a 3-0 defeat to. No. 24 UC-Colorado Springs on Saturday afternoon in Colorado Springs, Colo. WT finished the game with nine shots, six on-target as they dropped their first match of the season.
The Lady Buffs found themselves down 1-0 in the opening two minutes as UCCS' Tanner Sanders find the back of the net following a pass from Tarah Patterson. WT came close to equalizing in the 13thminute but Shanelle Arjoon's shot was cleared off the line.Â
UCCS doubled the advantage in the 50thminutes on Sanders' second goal of the contest after Hannah Kelley-Lusk recorded a pair of shots in the opening four minutes. Kelley-Lusk continued to trouble the Mountain Lion backline forcing another save in the. 77thminute. UCCS would add a third in. the 80thminute to seal the victory.  Â
Kelley-Lusk finished the contest with a game-high five shots including four on-target with Natasha Worm making a career-high three saves in goa.Â
The Lady Buffs host Fort Lewis in their home opener Thursday, Sept. 11, at 7 p.m. at The Pitch.Â
