CANYON, Texas - No. 4 West Texas A&M men's soccer team recorded their first loss of the season as No. 19 Midwestern State upset the Buffs in a 3-0 shutout on Saturday night at Stang Park in Wichita Falls, Texas.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Buffs struggled to make any chances as Matthieu Donati recorded WT's only shot of the first half in the 13th minute. WT fell behind in the 20th minute as Sebastian Venegas found Adam Conway for the game-winning goal for the Mustangs to lead 1-0 at the break.
WT saw an opportunity to tie the score as Kenny Brown went to strike in the 47th minute but was saved by junior goalkeeper Taylor Lampe. Juan Ramirez doubled the score for the Mustangs after goalkeeper Alexander Vencel denied the penalty kick but rebounded the ball back to Ramirez to finish in the net. Midwestern State added another goal in the final twenty minutes of the game to make it 3-0.
The Mustangs defense limited the Buffs to only seven shots, five of which were on frame. Alexander Vencel picked up his first loss of the season between the pipes with seven saves.
