DURANGO, Colorado – The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs swept past Texas A&M International and Adams State on Friday to remain unbeaten during the opening day of the Skyhawk Volleyball Classic at Whale Gymnasium in Durango, Colorado.

The Lady Buffs face their toughest test of the season on Saturday morning as they take on #4 Washburn with first serve set for 11:30 a.m. CT followed by the tournament finale against the host Skyhawks at 5:30 p.m. CT in Durango.

Lindsey Smith led the way offensively as the senior registered 13 kills on 19 swings with just one error to hit .632 on the afternoon followed by
Torrey Miller (11) and
Selena Batiste (10) with double-digit kills.
Gabby Emery paced the WT offense with 29 assists while Miller and
Chandler Vogel registered eight digs each in the win.

The Lady Buffs registered 45 kills on 93 swings with 10 attack errors to hit .376 on the afternoon with 40 assists, 33 digs, one ace, five blocks and 51 total points. WT finished off the match in style as they tallied 15 kills on 28 swings to hit .464 while holding International to a .108 attack percentage on the afternoon.

The Lady Buffs were led by Miller with 14 kills on 24 swings with just two errors to hit .500 on the night followed by
Samantha Jordan with 10 kills, Emery dished out 31 assists in the match while Vogel registered 11 digs in the win.

WT tallied 46 kills on 90 swings with eight attack errors to hit .422 on the night with 43 assists, four service aces, 44 digs and five total blocks in the win. WT opened the match on a 5-0 run as they hit .591 in the opening frame with 15 kills on 22 swings while the defense allowed an attack percentage of .159 in the match.
