2018:
Valdez redshirted for the West Texas A&M Track & Field Team during the 2018-19 school year.
 
At Dodge City Community College:
Valdez came to Canyon following two seasons at Dodge City Community College where she saw time in 71 matches for the Conquistadores, registering 570 total kills to average 2.25 per frame to go along with 31 assists, 26 service aces, 165 digs and 314 total blocks (143 solo, 171 assisted) to average 4.44 per frame. She was a two-time All-Kansas Jayhawk Community College Conference (KJCCC) selection during her time at Dodge City.
