#17 West Texas A&M Locks Down Oklahoma Panhandle State, 91-37

CANYON, Texas – The #17 West Texas A&M Lady Buffs had another strong defensive effort on Thursday night as they held the Oklahoma Panhandle State Aggies scoreless for almost nine minutes while forcing 26 turnovers as WT picked up their eighth straight victory, 91-37 in front of over 600 fans at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lady Buffs were led offensively by Braylyn Dollar who finished the night going 10-of-12 from the floor and 4-of-5 from the free throw line for career-high 24 points followed by Abby Spurgin with 15 to go along with nine rebounds to finish just shy of a double-double. Delaney Nix dished out a team-high six assists while Tiana Parker rejected three shots to go along with 12 points and seven boards.
- The Aggies were led by Vanessa Gonzales, Shay Audrin and Naomi Rodriguez with six points each, Lowendie Laporal led the way defensively with four rebounds to go along with two points and a block while Kaylee Morgan dished out three assists in the loss.
 
FIRST HALF
- The Lady Buffs finished the first half going 22-of-33 (66.7%) from the floor including 1-of-7 (14.3%) from behind the arc and 11-of-13 (84.6%) from the free throw line with 22 rebounds (seven offensive, 15 defensive), 12 assists, 10 turnovers, 11 steals and four blocks.
- OPSU went 4-of-23 (17.4%) from the field in the first half including 1-of-10 (10%) from deep and a perfect 2-of-2 from the charity stripe with nine rebounds (four offensive, five defensive), two assists, 18 turnovers, two steals and one block.
 
SECOND HALF
- WT finished the game going 36-of-66 (54.5%) from the field including 2-of-17 (11.8%) from deep and 17-of-23 (73.9%) from the charity stripe with 48 rebounds (17 offensive, 31 defensive), 18 assists, 18 turnovers, 15 steals and six blocks in the win.
- The Aggies went 13-of-52 (25%) from the floor including 7-of-24 (29.2%) from behind the arc and a perfect 4-of-4 from the free throw line with 23 rebounds (seven offensive, 16 defensive), six assists, 26 turnovers, four steals and three blocks.
