ORANGE, California – The #12 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M trailed by as many as 14 points in the first half before showing heart with a big fourth quarter for a 58-57 comeback victory over the University of Mary Marauders to close out the D2CCA Tipoff Classic at Santiago Canyon College in Orange, California.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lady Buffs were led offensively by Abby Spurgin who went 7-of-11 from the floor including 3-of-6 from the charity stripe to finish the afternoon with 17 points to go along with five rebounds, one assists and four blocks. Daria Cosgrove and Braylyn Dollar each scored nine points for the Lady Buffs while Cosgrove led the way on the defensive end with seven rebounds and three steals.
- The Marauders were led offensively by Cassie Askvig who went 8-of-21 from the floor including 4-of-8 from behind the arc for a game-high 20 points to go along with eight rebounds, Macy Williams chipped in 14 points while dishing out four assists for UMary.
 
FIRST HALF
- The Lady Buffs finished the first half going 10-of-26 (38.5%) from the floor including 2-of-8 (25%) from deep and 6-of-10 (60%) from the charity stripe with 17 rebounds (five offensive, 12 defensive), eight assists, six turnovers, three blocks and four steals.
- UMary finished the first half going 13-of-31 (41.9%) from the field including 7-of-13 (53.8%) from behind the arc and a perfect 2-of-2 from the free throw line to go along with 19 rebounds (six offensive, 13 defensive), 10 assists, six turnovers, no blocks and two steals.
 
SECOND HALF
- WT finished the game going 22-of-55 (40%) from the field including 3-of-15 (20%) from behind the arc and 11-of-18 (61.1%) from the free throw line to go along with 39 rebounds (12 offensive, 27 defensive), 14 assists, eight turnovers, eight blocks and six steals in the victory.
