CANYON, Texas – West Texas A&M played suffocating defense on Friday afternoon as the #12 Lady Buffs forced 25 turnovers and allowed the sixth fewest points in program history in a 74-26 rout of the Adams State Grizzlies during the opening day of the Pak-A-Sak Thanksgiving Classic at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.

- The Lady Buffs were led offensively by
Abby Spurgin who went 7-of-10 from the floor to lead all players with 15 points followed by
Sienna Lenz with 14 and
Delaney Nix with 12, Spurgin grabbed seven rebounds while
Megan Gamble dished out six rebounds to go along with three steals and five rebounds.
- The Grizzlies were led by Laura Gutierrez who went 4-of-10 from the floor including 3-of-8 from behind the arc for a team-high 11 points, Paiton Demps dished out a pair of assists while Carissa Schaeffer grabbed four rebounds in the loss.

- The Lady Buffs finished the first half going 16-of-31 (51.6%) from the floor including 4-of-9 (44.4%) from behind the arc and 4-of-6 (66.7%) from the free throw line with 19 rebounds (seven offensive, 12 defensive), 13 assists, six turnovers, nine steals and one block.
- ASU went 5-of-20 (25%) from the floor in the opening half including 3-of-11 (27.3%) from deep and 1-of-2 (50%) from the charity stripe with 12 rebounds (four offensive, eight defensive), three assists, 16 turnovers, three steals and one block.

- WT finished the game going 30-of-56 (53.6%) from the floor including 6-of-17 (35.3%) from behind the arc and 8-of-16 (50%) from the charity stripe with 42 rebounds (16 offensive, 26 defensive), 21 assists, 13 turnovers, 15 steals and four blocks in the win.
