PORTALES, New Mexico – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M used a combined 33 kills from Torre y Miller and Selena Batiste on Tuesday night to head into a seven-day break in style by defeating the rival Greyhounds of Eastern New Mexico (25-20, 22-25, 25-23, 25-11) at Greyhound Arena in Lone Star Conference action.
 
Miller registered 21 kills on 43 swings with just four attack errors to hit .395 on the night to go along with 11 digs for a double-double followed by Batiste with a double-double of her own (12 kills, 11 digs), Gabby Emery paced the WT attack with 27 assists in the win while Chandle Vogel tallied 17 digs on the back row for the Lady Buffs. WT hit .265 as a team on Tuesday night with 57 kills on 155 swings with 16 attack errors to go along with 52 assists, five aces, 65 digs and five total blocks.
 
Jasmine Gannon led the way offensively for the Hounds with 13 kills on 38 swings with seven attack errors to hit .158 on the night followed by Christelle Kialada and Sara Tuioti-Mariner with 12 kills each, Rae Sapiga dished out 27 assists while M'Lee Vinso led all players with 26 digs in the loss. ENMU registered 54 kills on 148 swings with 22 attack errors to hit .216 as a team with 50 assists, two aces, 57 digs and seven total blocks on the night.
 
The Lady Buffs head into a seven-day break before finishing off a four-match road swing next Tuesday night in Stephenville, Texas as they take on the defending South Central Regional Champion Texans of Tarleton with first serve set for 6 p.m. at Wisdom Gym South.
