Callum Challinor scored a pair of first half goals as the Buffs rolled to a 3-0 Heartland conference shutout of the visiting Newman Jets on a rainy Thursday night in Canyon, Texas at The Pitch.

The Buffs got on the board in the 17
th minute as Challinor continued his hot start to the 2018 season with his seventh goal of the campaign on a pass from
Jean-Luc Ramdin for the early 1-0 lead. Challinor wasted little time adding to the WT lead just two minutes later, this time from
Julio Vargas from 10 yards out to make it 2-0.

Lucca Lima added to the WT lead in the 58
th minute as the junior found the back of the net from
Reece Schattle and
Harry McGrath on a cross from 10 yards out to make it 3-0. The teams headed to the locker room in the 65
th minute in a lightning delay starting at 8:28 p.m. and they returned about an hour later at 9:25 p.m. The teams would battle the remaining 25 minutes without any goals as
Alexander Vencel finished the night with five saves in the victory.
