CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M struggled offensively against one of the top teams in the country on Friday afternoon as they fell to the #25 Spartans of the University of Tampa in four sets during the Courtyard Marriott/Terrace Hotel Classic at the Martinez Sports Center in Tampa.

The Lady Buffs registered 42 kills on 146 attempts with 24 errors to hit .123 as a team with 37 assists, four aces, 56 digs and four blocks in the loss.
Taylor Kress and
Lindsey Smith led the way for the Lady Buffs with 10 kills each while
Gabby Emery dished out a team-high 16 assists to go along with 10 digs for a double-double,
Chandler Vogel led WT with 14 digs.

The Spartans tallied 64 kills on 145 swings with 15 attack errors to hit .338 in the match with 60 assists, 11 service aces, 68 digs and seven total blocks. Tampa was led offensively by Sorrel Houghton with a match-high 21 kills on 42 swings with four attack errors to hit .405 on the afternoon, Sammy Mueller dished out 53 assists to go along with 11 digs for a double-double while Nicole Dominguez led the way defensively with 18 digs in the win.
