CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M wrapped up opening weekend in style on Saturday night as they topped the Lady Chaps of Lubbock Christian in four frames in the finale of the BritKare Lady Buff Classic at the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box" in Canyon.

The Lady Buffs registered 64 kills on 200 swings with 28 attack errors to hit .180 on the night with 61 assists, seven service aces, 102 digs and six total blocks in the win. Lindsey Smith registered a career-high 16 kills followed by Taylor Kress with 15 and Destiny Jones with 12, Selena Batiste dished out 26 assists to go along with 13 digs for a double-double while Chandler Vogel tallied 28 digs.
 
Lubbock Christian finished the match with 49 kills on 189 swings with 24 errors to hit .132 as a team with 45 assists, five aces, 91 digs and 12 total blocks in the loss. Lauren Zoller and Ashley VanFleet registered 11 kills each while Bradi Marshall led all players with 41 assists, Kelsie French led the way defensively with 24 digs.

The Lady Buffs return to action next weekend as they head to the Sunshine State to take part in the Courtyard Marriott/Terrance Hotel Classic on the campuses of the University of Tampa and Florida Southern College.
