SAN ANGELO, Texas – The #10 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M could never get in a rhythm offensively on Friday afternoon as they fell to the rival #6 Belles of Angelo State in the winner's bracket of the South Central Regional Championship at Mayer Field in San Angelo, Texas.

WT now falls into an elimination game tonight at 7 p.m. at Mayer Field against the winner of Colorado Christian/Cameron game taking place this afternoon, the winner of the nightcap will advance to Championship Saturday and need to beat the Belles twice to keep their season alive.

HOW IT HAPPENENED:
The Belles looked to get on the board first in the home half of the second inning as they loaded the bases with one out before
Shayne Starkey responded with a strikeout and an
Alyx Cordell snag of a line drive in the hole to end the inning.

ASU took the first lead of the game in the bottom of the third inning as Taylor Fogle singled to left field with the bases loaded and no outs to drive in a pair for the 2-0 lead. The Belles added to their lead in the fourth with a Karina Rocha two-run single up the middle with the bases loaded again to make it 4-0.

Starkey picked up the loss (14-3) for the Lady Buffs, giving up two runs on five hits with four walks and four strikeouts in her three innings of work.Â
