HOW IT HAPPENENED:
The Belles got on the board in the top of the first inning as a pair of Lady Buff errors led to two Angelo State runs for the early 2-0 lead. The defensive miscues continued in the top of the fifth inning as an errant throw plated another run followed by a squeeze bunt to make it 4-0.
Â
The Lady Buffs got on the board in the home half of the sixth inning as
Kourtney Coveney doubled to the left center field gap with two outs to score
Stevie McLemore followed by a
Suka Van Gurp infield single to make it 4-2. WT made things interesting in the seventh with the bases loaded as Coveney walked with two outs and the bases loaded before a fielder's choice groundout to short to end the game at 4-3.
Â
Kilee Halbert picked up the loss (10-3) in the circle, giving up four runs (no earned) on seven hits with four walks and three strikeouts in the complete game loss.
