Balanced Attack Leads the #25 Lady Buffs Past Texas A&M-Kingsville, 74-58

CANYON, Texas – The #25 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M took a 23-point lead into the locker room for halftime and never looked back as they picked up their 18th straight victory over the Javelinas of Texas A&M-Kingsville, 74-58 on Thursday night during Lone Star Conference action in front of over 750 fans at the First United Bank Center in Canyon.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- West Texas A&M was led offensively by Sydney Walton who went 4-of-6 from the floor and 3-of-4 from deep to score 12 points followed by Lexy Hightower with 11 while Madison Parker and Cece Wooten registered nine each, Abby Spurgin led the way defensively with seven rebounds while Parker dished out six assists in the win.
- Angelica Wilson led the Javelinas as she went 7-of-11 from the floor and 7-of-10 from the free throw like with 21 points followed by Tatyan McFarland with 10, Wilson grabbed a game-high eight rebounds while Shaq Debose dished out six assists.
 
FIRST HALF:
- The Lady Buffs went 19-of-27 (70.4%) from the floor in the opening half including 7-of-10 (70%) from deep and 3-of-3 from the free throw line with 13 rebounds (three offensive, 13 defensive), 15 assists, nine turnovers, two blocks and eight steals.
- Texas A&M-Kingsville finished the first half going 10-of-23 (43.5%) from the field including 0-of-4 from deep and 5-of-8 (62.5%) from the charity stripe with 10 rebounds (five offensive, five defensive), four assists, 11 turnovers, no blocks and three steals.

SECOND HALF:
- WT finished the game going 29-of-55 (52.7%) from the floor including 10-of-22 (45.5%) from deep and 6-of-11 (54.5%) from the charity stripe with 31 rebounds (10 offensive, 21 defensive), 23 assists, 16 turnovers, three blocks and 14 steals in the win.

Fans are encouraged to show up early on Saturday for a pregame senior ceremony to honor Sydney Walton, Cece Wooten and Madison Parker. WT Athletics will also present the Class of 2017 Hall of Champions Induction Class throughout the afternoon.
