Lady Buffs Sweep Past TWU in the Lone Star Conference Quarterfinals

STEPHENVILLE, Texas – West Texas A&M junior Selena Batiste registered a triple-double in her fourth consecutive match as the Lady Buffs kept their season alive, sweeping past the Pioneers of Texas Woman's on Thursday night during the Lone Star Conference Quarterfinals in Stephenville, Texas.

The Lady Buffs registered 42 kills on 136 attempts with 13 errors to hit .230 on the night with 39 assists, five service aces, 69 digs and five blocks. WT was led offensively by Selena Batiste who registered her ninth triple-double of the season with 12 kills, 21 assists and 10 digs on the night followed by Taylor Kress with nine kills, Gabby Emery dished out 15 assists in the win while LSC Libero of the Year Chandler Vogel led the Lady Buffs with 19 digs.
 
Texas Woman's finished the match with 40 kills on 141 swings with 22 attack errors to hit .128 as a team with 38 assists, one ace, 67 digs and three blocks in the loss. Taylor Frederick led the way offensively for the Pioneers with 11 kills on 30 swings with four errors to hit .233 on the night, Katy Ranes dished out a match high 37 assists while Bailey French led all players with 23 digs in TWU's final match of the season.
 
UP NEXT
The Lady Buffs advance to tomorrow's Lone Star Conference Semifinals against the winner of top seeded Tarleton and eighth seeded Eastern New Mexico starting tonight at 7:30 p.m. in Stephenville. Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas A&M-Commerce will battle in Friday's first semifinal (5 p.m.) followed by the Lady Buffs against the TSU/ENMU winner at 7:30 p.m.
