CANYON, Texas. – The #17 Lady Buffs of West Texas unbeaten streak reached 13 games on Sunday under cold, windy conditions as Khadidra Debesette scored the game-winner in the 102nd minute to defeat MSU Texas, 2-1, at The Pitch. It marks the third time in program history and first since 2002 that WT has gone unbeaten in 13 straight games as they improved to 12-1-1 overall and 7-0-1 in Lone Star Conference play.

WT spent a majority of the first half defending with MSU Texas playing with the 30 mph win behind their back. The visitors would come close to scoring twice with Senna Garcia and Sarah Stewart hitting the crossbar in the first 45 minutes.
The Lady Buffs were a much different team in the second half evident by Calista Cordero scoring her fourth of the season within 10 minutes of the referee's whistle. . The sophomore was just outside the box when Noir Hawash redirected the corner kick to her right foot where she beat the keeper at the far post. Khaline Jacob came close to doubling the lead just minutes later on a through ball down the left side but MSU's Samantha Upton read it perfectly to stop the threat.
MSU would tie the game at 1-all in the 72nd minute when Stewart got her head on Madison Davis' corner kick from the left side. The visitors came close to taking the lead seven minutes later on a point blank shot from Julia Orozco but Coutney Dippel was there to make the save. WT turned up the pressure in the final 10 minutes of regulation with seven shots, four of those-on target, but were unable to find the winner.
Dra Debesette made the Mustangs pay for not scoring with the win at their back in the first overtime as the senior scored her first of the season in the 102nd minute. The senior needed one touch before putting the game-winner on-target that ricocheted off the crossbar into the goal sending the bench into a frenzy. It was her seventh career game-winning goal which is the fifth-most in program history.
Dippel made six saves allowing a goal for only the third time in eight Lone Star Conference matches to improve to 12-1-1 on the season.
