WICHITA FALLS, Texas – West Texas A&M senior
Julio Vargas made his final regular-season trip to Wichita Falls memorable on Saturday afternoon as the Dallas native registered his 11
th goal of the season in the 95
th minute to give the Buffs a 1-0 golden goal overtime win over the #3 Mustangs of MSU Texas, snapping MSU's 35-match unbeaten streak which was tied for the fourth longest in NCAA Division II history.

The first half saw the teams trade shots as the Buffs registered eight in the first 45 minutes of play with three falling on goal while the Mustangs had five with none coming on goal. The rivals went another 45 minutes without a score as the two goalies combined for six saves to send the game into overtime.
The Buffs ended the match at the 95:50 mark as
Harry McGrath send a free kick from 20 yards out into the box to find Vargas on the right post for the golden goal.
Alexander Vencel finished the afternoon with two saves on 10 shots faced to move to 7-1-1 on the season.
