Lady Buffs Start Slow in a Four Set Loss to Illinois-Springfield

ST. CHARLES, Missouri – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M hit .247 as a team but committed 19 attack errors as they fell to the Prairie Stars of Illinois-Springfield in four sets on Friday night in the Day 1 finale of the Lindenwood Last Second Challenge in St. Charles, Missouri.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Lady Buffs hit .247 as a team with 57 kills on 154 swings with 19 attack errors to go along with 54 assists, four service aces, 74 digs and five total blocks.
- UIS registered 64 kills on 163 swings with 15 attack errors to hit .301 on the night with 61 assists, seven service aces, 68 digs and eight total blocks in the win.
- Sophomore Selena Batiste registered a triple-double with 12 kills, 37 assists and 11 digs while Kamille Jones led all players with 14 kills. Gabby Emery dished out a career high 17 assists while Erin Clark finished the night with a double-double, 10 kills and 18 digs.

- The Lady Buffs look to rebound tomorrow afternoon as they take on the Griffons of Missouri Western with first serve set for 2:30 p.m. CT in St. Charles. MWSU enters Saturday with an overall record of 3-3 following wins over Illinois-Springfield and St. Mary's on Friday at Hyland Arena.
