  • A poor clear by the Lady Buffs led to a score – the first allowed by WT on the year as Abigail Chavez came up with the interception and passed to an open Zinnia Hanning for the score and a 1-0 lead 17:17 into the match. It was the first goal WT had allowed this season.

  • WT came right back as Arjoon dribbled up field and dished to sophomore Makenzie Taylor who immediately passed van Mourik for a one-on-one once again as she beat the second keeper of the game for the Cowgirls, Karina Vega for the equalizer at the 24:07 mark in the first half.

  • For the half, the Lady Buffs had eight shots with five on frame, led by three shots on goal from van Mourik.WT had two corner kicks in the half as well.

  • New Mexico Highlands had five shots in the half two on goal led by Leandra Garlinger with two shots. Hanning had the goal with the assist to Chavez.NMHU had four save in the period with two by Ruelas and Vega, while recording one corner kick.

  • Another poor clear by the Lady Buffs almost led to a goal in the 68th minute as WT goalkeeper Courtney Dippel came way out to clear the ball away and prevent the score. At the other end, the Lady Buffs had a great chance for a score off some great passing and the Lady Buffs were offside as junior Khadidra Debesette put the rebound in, but the goal was called off due to the offside call.

  • The second half ended tied at one sending the game to a golden goal overtime.Through the final 15 minutes of regulation, the Lady Buffs had a number of great looks and breakaways, but the Cowgirls were up to the challenge and Vega recorded six saves in the second stanza.
