  • The Lead: The West Texas A&M women's soccer team dropped a 6-0 decision at Southwestern Oklahoma State as SWOSU's Alimata Rabo scored four goals in the contest.
 
 
HOW IT HAPPENED:
 
  • Just 2:36 into the contest, SWOSU's Oliva Butler sent a long pass to Alimata Rabo, who beat WT junior goalkeeper Courtney Dippel on a one-on-one for her second goal of the year and a 1-0 lead.It was the quickest goal scored by the Lady Buffs or an opponent this season.
  • The Bulldogs had another good look at the 14:01 mark as Sandra Nabweteme hit the crossbar as WT had just one shot from sophomore Marlene van Mourik, which sailed wide left through the first 15 minutes.
  • After a pair of good shots from the Lady Buffs, Rabo scored her second goal of the game at the 20:41 mark as she dribbled into the top of the box and fired to the top right corner past Dippel for a 2-0 lead.
  • Less than one minute later, Nabweteme scored as Rabo assisted for a 3-0 lead at the 21:34 mark. It was Nabweteme's first goal of the season.
  • Sarah Wilson scored the fourth goal of the half at the 25:59 mark off a rebounded free kick and heads it in for a 4-0 lead.
  • WT had five shots with none on goal in the first half, while SWOSU had ten shots with six on goal and four scores.
  • van Mourik had three shots for the Lady Buffs in the half.
  • SWOSU added two more goals in the second half as Rabo scored the two goals in the second half for a career-high four goals in the game.
  • WT has 11 shots with three on goal in the contest as van Mourik has seven shots and two on frame to lead the team.
  • SWOSU had 17 shots with 10 on goal as Rabo had seven shots in the game with four on goal (all scores) and one assist. Nabweteme had one goal with two assists.
  • Dippel had two saves in the game, while freshman Syneca Pyszko got her first action of the season playing 36:59 allowing one goal with two saves.
 
 
INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
 
  • The six goals was the most WT has allowed in a game in school history as the Lady Buffs have allowed five on just two occasions since 1996.
  • The four goals by Rabo was the most by one player on an opposing team in school history.
  • WT allowed five goals at Midwestern State on Oct. 7, 2011 and in the Elite Eight in 2009 against Cal State-Dominguez Hills in a 5-2 loss.
  • This is the first win by SWOSU in the series history as WT now leads 16-1-1.

  • The Lady Buffs will have eight days off until they return home to open Lone Star Conference play hosting Texas Woman's Friday, Sept. 22 at 7 p.m. at The Pitch.
