LAWTON, Oklahoma – The #6 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M connected on five homeruns on Saturday afternoon as the registered a pair of run-rule victories over the Aggies of Cameron to claim the Lone Star Conference weekend series at McMahon Field in Lawton, Oklahoma. The Lady Buffs improve to 34-7 (19-5 LSC) on the season while the Aggies fall to 29-15 (17-6 LSC) on the season.

The Lady Buffs return to Schaeffer Park on Tuesday afternoon as they host the NAIA's defending National Champion and current top team in the nation, the Stars of Oklahoma City with a doubleheader set for 2 p.m. in Canyon.

GAME 1 - #6 West Texas A&M 12, Cameron 2 (5 Innings)

The Lady Buffs wasted little time starting the scoring in game two as
Kylee Moore connected on a two-run homerun over the scoreboard in right center for the early 2-0 lead. The Aggies responded in the home half as they took advantage of a WT error with a Paige Daino RBI single at 2-1.

WT exploded for five runs in the top of the second inning as She Ibrahim and
Ashley Hardin each drove in a pair of runs followed by a
Shanna McBroom RBI single to extend the lead to 7-1. The Lady Buffs added to their lead in the fourth as Hardin scored on a wild pitch followed by RBI from
Maddie Green and
Sierra Gentry, Ibrahim ran her RBI total to four as the senior doubled home a pair at 12-1.Â

The Aggies would add a run with a sac fly to right in the home half of the fifth but
Shayne Starkey would finish off the complete game win (5-1) as the sophomore allowed two runs on five hits with one walk and one strikeout.Â

GAME 2 - #6 West Texas A&M 16, Cameron 1 (5 Innings)

WT used the long ball to get on the board early as Hardin crushed a two-run shot to center field followed by a Moore double and McBroom RBI double before
Allie Smith connected on a two-run shot to center for the 5-0 lead.

Cameron got on the board in the home half of the first as Brenna Busby connected on a leadoff solo shot to left field at 5-1. WT responded in the second as Ibrahim connected on a solo shot to left followed by RBI singles from Hardin and McBroom and a Green sac fly to run the lead to 9-1. The Lady Buffs struck again in the third as Hardin crushed a three-run bomb to center field to run the lead to 12-1.Â

Moore doubled down the right field line with one out in the fifth to score Ibrahim followed by RBI singles from McBroom and Smith at 15-1,
Hunter Ervin lifted a sac fly to the warning track in left center for the 16-1 lead. That's all that
Alexis Alfonso would need as the senior picked up the win (9-1), giving up no runs on three hits with three walks and two strikeouts in the final three innings of play.
