#6 Lady Buffs Snap #1 OCU’s 52-Game Win Streak in a Tuesday Afternoon Doubleheader Split

CANYON, Texas – The #6 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M saw their 24-game home win streak broken in a 10-inning thriller on Tuesday afternoon before responding in the nightcap to end #1 Oklahoma City's 52-game win streak to split a doubleheader at Schaeffer Park in Canyon. The Lady Buffs improve to 35-8 on the season while the Stars fall to 47-1 overall.

WT's 24-game home win streak lasted for 347 days beginning on May 6, 2016 while OCU's 52-game win streak dates back 323 days to May 30, 2016. The Stars held the record for most consecutive victories in NAIA history and were just three wins shy of Northern Kentucky's collegiate softball record of 55 straight wins before the loss to the Lady Buffs in the nightcap.

The Lady Buffs wrap up their regular season home schedule this weekend as they host the Javelinas of Texas A&M-Kingsville in a Lone Star Conference series beginning on Friday night at 7 p.m. with a Senior Day Saturday doubleheader starting at 2 p.m. at Schaeffer Park.
