  • MSU goalkeeper Courtney Burnette had three saves in the half.
  • The Mustangs had a renewed vigor in the second half as Destinee Williamson was on the attack early and almost got to a through ball, but WT junior goalkeeper Courtney Dippel beat her to the ball to prevent a disaster as Williamson was all by herself.
  • The Lady Buffs had the break though goal in the 62nd minute as freshman Lauren Burke ran down to the right corner and passed back to freshman Jessica Diaz as she put it over the head of Burnette for the score and a 1-0 lead.
  • In the 70th minute, MSU failed to clear the ball as redshirt freshman Hannah Kelley intercepted the attempted clear and found freshman Noir Hawash in the corner for a score and a 2-0 lead.Hawash is the reigning LSC Offensive Player of the Week after a hat trick at UT Permian Basin last Sunday.
  • Just over five minutes later, Hawash and Kelley connected once again, this time Hawash put a nice through ball down the right side of the field to Kelley who beat her defender for a one-on-one for a score and a 3-0 lead in the 76th minute.
