THE BASICS:

The Lead: West Texas A&M women's soccer Senior Night saw ENMU battle back from a 1-0 deficit, scoring with 2:46 remaining in regulation for a 1-1 draw Wednesday evening at The Pitch. WT sophomore Khaline Jacob scored her first goal as a Lady Buff in the second half, breaking a 0-0 tie.

HOW IT HAPPENED:

Prior to the game, the Lady Buffs honored two seniors in Sydney Hickerson and Lucy Chalgren who played in their final regular season home game in a WT uniform.
Former Greyhound sophomore Samantha Silvestre had a great look for the Lady Buffs 12:40 into the contest on a great pass from freshman Jessica Diaz, but the ball sailed wide right.Silvestre started her career at ENMU in 2015, before transferring to WT last fall.
Sophomore Shanelle Arjoon had a great look for a score at the 30:29 mark inside the six, but the ball went wide once again.
In transition off a corner kick by ENMU, Silvestre brought the ball up field and put a nice through ball to sophomore Marlene van Mourik as ENMU goalkeeper Alejandra Camarillo got foot on it deflecting it away for a corner kick.
At the 57:55 mark, sophomore Khaline Jacob, who had been in the game for just 55 seconds, headed in a ball off a corner kick from van Mourik for a 1-0 WT lead.It was Jacob's first goal of the season for the Lady Buffs and van Mourik's team-leading fourth assist.
ENMU had its first shot on goal at the 70:47 mark as Kaitlin Caro had a free kick from about 35 yards out as junior Courtney Dippel had the easy save.
Jacob had another great look as Camarillo came out to attack on a breakaway, but the ball went just wide of the net at the 73:59 mark.
In the 85^th minute, freshman Noir Hawash and van Mourik had a great look for the insurance goal, but van Mourik couldn't get enough on it after the Hawash pass as it went wide.
In the 88^th minute Kenya Brooke scored in transition on a header off an assist Ariel Lopez for a 1-1 score.
van Mourik had a shot blocked with five seconds left in regulation as the game went to overtime.
Hawash had a great chance at a score on a pass deep from freshman Jessica Diaz, but the ball went wide at the 90:41 mark.
Neither team could score in the first overtime, sending the game to the second overtime period for the second time this season.
van Mourik had a shot and save by ENMU at the 103:32 mark as Camarillo came up with the save.
Off a free kick by WT just outside the box, freshman Cheyenne Orozco headed the ball for a team save, followed by a rebound shot high from Jacob as the game ended in a tie.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:

For the first half, the Lady Buffs had five shots with one on goal, while ENMU had two shots and none on frame.
van Mourik had the lone shot on goal in the half.
The half marked a string of 155 minutes between the two teams of scoreless soccer as the teams played to a 0-0 draw in Portales, N.M. earlier this season.
The goal by Jacob snapped a scoreless streak between the two teams of 167:55 minutes this season.
Brooke's goal ended a streak of 327:44 scoreless minutes against WT dating back to last season in a 4-1 loss to WT in Canyon on Oct. 5, 2016.
For the game, WT had 14 shots with five on goal, while ENMU had 10 shots and two on frame.
van Mourik had three shots and two on goal and an assist, while Jacob had three shots and one on frame for a goal.
Brooke made her one shot on goal and recorded two shots for the game, while Lopez had two shots and an assist.
Camarillo had three saves for ENMU, while Dipple had one save for the Lady Buffs.

UP NEXT:

The Lady Buffs close out the 2017 regular season Sunday at 1 p.m. at Midwestern State in Wichita Falls, Texas.
The Lady Buffs then will find out where they stand in the upcoming Lone Star Conference Championship with potentially hosting a game next Wednesday in the quarterfinal round of the tournament.
