TEMPE, Ariz. – Former West Texas A&M football defensive lineman Iosia Iosia signed Sunday with the Arizona Cardinals of the National Football League, the team announced. Iosia is the tenth Buffalo to currently be in a NFL camp this summer.
The ten Buffaloes in camp are the most of any NCAA Division II school. Iosia originally signed a free agent contract with the 
Tennessee Titans after he finished his WT career in 2015. He was released by the Titans on May 16, 2016.
Along with WT, there are 136 total alumni of Division II schools in NFL camps and 43 with at least two years of NFL experience. In addition, there are a total of 76 Division II schools represented in NFL training camps and five schools, including WT, with five or more alums on camp rosters. WT (10), Grand Valley State (7), California, Pa. (5), Newberry (5) and Missouri Western (5).
Iosia, a native of San Francisco, Calif., came to WT from City College of San Francisco in 2014. In his first season at WT, he played in all 11 games with seven starts on the defensive line. He tallied 43 tackles with 21 solo stops, while finishing third on the team in tackles for loss with 8.5 for 49 yards. He had three sacks to tie for the team-lead for 30 yards, while recording one pass breakup and led the team with six quarterback hurries. Iosia was named Lone Star Conference Defensive Player of the Week once in 2014 and earned honorable mention all-conference honors.
In 2015, he played and started all ten games recording 43 tackles with 21 solo. He had a team-high 11.0 tackles for loss for 62 yards, while leading the team with 6.5 sacks for 43 yards. Iosia had three pass breakups, three quarterback hurries and forced three fumbles, earning him second team all-conference honors.
For his career, he played in 21 games with 17 starts, while tallying 86 tackles with 42 solo tackles. He had 19.5 tackles for loss for 111 yards, 9.5 sacks for 73 yards, four pass breakups, nine quarterback hurries and three forced fumbles.
According to the Arizona Cardinals, Iosia will wear No. 66 and the Cardinals' second preseason game is scheduled for Aug. 19 at 8 p.m. (CT) at San Diego. Iosia, along with teammate and former Buff Brittan Golden, will go against former Buff Torrence Allen who plays for the Chargers in the game. Below is a list of the Buffs currently on NFL rosters.
