CANYON, Texas – The No. 17 West Texas A&M baseball team makes its final regular season road trip this weekend at Angelo State in a key Lone Star Conference matchup of two teams who are tied for the league-lead. First pitch is scheduled for Friday at 6:30 p.m., followed by a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m.

The Buffs travel to Angelo State for a critical Lone Star Conference series this weekend, playing Friday at 6:30 p.m., followed by a doubleheader Saturday at 1 p.m.
WT and ASU split a four game series at WT earlier this season with WT winning the first and third games, while the Rams won the second and fourth contests.
The Buffs are 29-12 overall and 17-9 in Lone Star Conference play and are tied for first in the league standings with Angelo State and Texas A&M-Kingsville.
Angelo State is 24-17 overall and 17-9 in league play after a 3-2, extra-inning loss to St. Mary's on Tuesday.
If the Buffs win one game this weekend, WT would have 30 wins on the season marking the fourth-straight year of 30 or more wins and the eighth overall(since baseball was reinstated as a sport at WT in 1994).

Matt Vanderburg has four 30-plus win seasons in his eight years at WT and his 37 wins in 2014 is a school-record.Vanderburg is 19-22 against Angelo State in his time at WT.
The Buffs went 3-1 last week with a 15-inning win over then-No. 10 Lubbock Christian (7-6) and took two of three from Cameron over the weekend.
This weekend is the final regular season road trip for the Buffs this season as WT is 12-6 on the road this season.
