The Rams plated two runs in the top of the seventh for the win in the opener, 3-2, while WT scored two runs in the bottom of the sixth of the nightcap breaking a 2-2 tie.
The teams will conclude the series Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. at Wilder Park. The Buffs enter the finale with a 19-6 record overall and an 8-3 mark in Lone Star Conference play, while Angelo State is 13-10 and 7-4 in league play. Links to live stats and audio/video streaming are on

For the doubleheader, senior
Trace Hansen went 4 of 7 with two runs scored, a double and a RBI, while Christian Abilla went 3 for 4 with three runs scored and Nathan Ruane was 3 for 6 with a run scored and a RBI.

Kyle Tinius. A sacrifice bunt moved the runners to second and third with one out. Nathan Ruane hit a bloop-single past a diving Fuller right back up the middle plating the tying run. David Goggin hit a sacrifice fly to left for a 3-2 lead.
The Buffs drew a one out walk in the bottom of the seventh. Zak came back and got lucky with a dropped single in right, but senior
Mason Shiflett had to tag. A fielder's choice ended the game as Angelo State snapped a string of six consecutive losses by one run in Canyon. WT won last night's opener 2-1.
After a three-up-three down top of the first, WT put two on with one out in the bottom of the first on singles through the left side from senior

Trace Hansen. A wild pitch moved the runners to second and third. Angelo State pitcher Bryce Zack came back with two strikeouts to end the frame.
Senior
Josh Day began the bottom of the second with a ground-rule double to right. It was the first extra-base hit of the series by either team. Zak tallied another strikeout and a fielder's choice at third ended the threat.
A triple to center by senior
Matt Cole with one away in the bottom of the third gave WT its fourth hit of the game. Hansen singled home Cole for a 1-0 lead. An error on a sacrifice bunt put runners at first and third for the Buffs as junior
John Baiada put down a nice bunt and Hansen moved to third on the miscue. The Buffs hit into an inning-ending double play to end the scoring chance leaving four stranded through three innings.
Angelo State got a leadoff single from Sam Kohler and a passed ball moved him to second with nobody out in the top of the fourth. Senior
Brooks Trujillo came back with two big strikeouts – the looking variety. A fly out to left got the Buffs out of the jam.
After Day got plunked in the hand with a Zak offering in the bottom of the fourth, senior
Aaron De La Paz hit a bloop-single to right on a hit-and-run as Day advanced to third with nobody out. Senior
Jake Fuller hit a sacrifice fly to right for a 2-0 lead.
The Rams got on the board in the top of the fifth with a leadoff single and a ground-rule double to right center from pinch-hitter Michael Urquidi for a 2-1 WT lead. A wild pitch moved Urquidi to third with one away. Trujillo got the second out on a bunt foul on two strikes for a strikeout. A fly out to center ended the threat as Trujillo and the Buffs preserved the lead.
Kohler drew a leadoff walk in the sixth. Baiada gunned down his second attempted base stealer of the game in Kohler for the second out. A hit batsman put a runner at first with two away, but a fly out to center ended the inning.
Trujillo (4-2) took the loss going six innings, allowing three earned runs on seven hits, with one walk and four strikeouts. Zak (5-1) earned the win in a complete game on seven hits, two earned runs, two walks and he fanned seven.
#18 West Texas A&M 4, Angelo State 2 (Game Two)In the nightcap, Angelo State got runners at first and third with nobody out courtesy of an error on a sacrifice bunt in the top of the third. Goggin singled through the left side for a 1-0 lead. A pickoff at second and a double play ended the threat.
A double off the left field wall from De La Garza and a hit batsman put two on with nobody out in the top of the fourth for the Rams. A fielder's choice error and a sacrifice bunt plated the second run of the game for the Rams for a 2-0 lead. WT starting pitcher
Austin Moore got Urquidi to ground out to third to end the inning.
Baiada singled on a hit and run with nobody out in the bottom of the fourth as Hansen began the frame with a single that hit off De La Garza. Shiflett singled up the middle for a RBI and a 2-1 deficit. A double play followed as the run Baiada scored was the first run allowed by De La Garza this season as he had not allowed a run in 17 innings. Junior
Troy LaBrie tied the game at two with a RBI single to right.
Hansen belted his 12
th double of the year to begin the bottom of the sixth as he leads the LSC in doubles. Following the double, the Rams went to the bullpen in favor of closer Graylon Brown. A fielder's choice sacrifice bunt by Baiada put runners at the corners with nobody out. A wild pitch by brown scored Hansen as WT took its first lead of the game 3-2. De La Paz, who pinch-hit for redshirt freshman
Christian Loya, hit a RBI double to left center for a 4-2 lead. LaBrie singled through the left side for runners at the corners. A fielder's choice got the second out for Brown and the Rams.
WT retired the Rams in order in the seventh as Moore pitched his third complete game of the season, going seven innings, allowing four hits, two unearned runs, one walk and two strikeouts. De La Garza (2-1) took the loss, going five innings, allowing seven hits, three earned runs and he fanned one.
WT had four runs on nine hits with two errors leading to the two ASU runs. ASU had two runs on four hits. The Buffs left five on base, while ASU stranded four. Hansen went 2 for 3 with two runs scored leading three Buffs with multiple hits.
