WICHITA FALLS, Texas – The Mustangs of Midwestern State looked to register their first ever win over West Texas A&M on Tuesday night but the Lady Buffs fought back from an 0-2 deficit to outlast the Mustangs in five sets (14-25, 22-25, 25-8, 25-21, 15-13) at D.L. Ligon Coliseum in Wichita Falls, Texas. The Lady Buffs snap a seven game losing skid to improve to 5-8 (1-4 LSC) while the Mustangs fall to 4-11 (0-3 LSC) on the year.
 
The Lady Buffs were led offensively by Curl with 17 kills and 11 digs for the double-double followed by Davis with 14 kills on 25 swings with just three attack errors to hit .440 on the night while Bentsen and Haley tallied 11 kills each, Jackson guided the WT offense with a career high 49 assists to go along with 11 digs for a double-double while seven total Lady Buffs registered double-digit digs led by Britten with a team high 30. The Lady Buffs hit .155 as a team with 59 kills on 187 swings with 30 attack errors to go along with 57 assists, three service aces, 109 digs and 12 total blocks on the night.
 
Midwestern State was led offensively by Schiffner with 12 kills on 33 swings with just one attack error to hit .333 on the night while Porter also registered double-digit kills with 10, Blair guided the Mustang offense with 22 assists and 12 digs for the double-double while Dix led all players with 32 digs on the night. The Mustangs hit .101 as a team with 46 kills on 199 swings with 26 attack errors to go along with 40 assists, four service aces, 86 digs and six total blocks in the match.
 
NEXT TIME OUT
The Lady Buffs returns to Canyon this weekend for a Saturday triangular with Oklahoma City University and Southwestern Oklahoma State at the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box". WT will take on the Stars starting at 2:00 p.m. followed by an OCU/SWOSU matchup at 5:00 p.m. before the Lady Buffs and Bulldogs wrap-up action starting at 7:30 p.m.
