Lady Buffs Finish Strong as they Top Southwestern Oklahoma State in Four Sets

CANYON, Texas – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M registered their third straight victory on Saturday night as they dropped the first frame before responding to roll the Bulldogs of Southwestern Oklahoma State (20-25, 25-15, 25-19, 25-14) in front of over 500 fans at the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box" in Canyon, Texas. The win lifts the Lady Buffs to 7-8 overall while the Bulldogs fall to 7-7 after beating Oklahoma City earlier in the afternoon.
 
The Lady Buffs were led by Haley with a match high 17 kills on 37 swings with just three attack errors to hit .378 on the night while Curl registered 15 kills and Montgomery had a double-double with 11 kills and 12 digs, Jackson guided the WT offense with 45 assists while Britten led the team with 14 digs on the night. WT hit .298 as a team with 60 kills on 141 swings with 18 attack errors to go along with 55 assists, six service aces, 71 digs and 12.5 total blocks on the night.
 
Southwestern Oklahoma State was led by Dressendorfer with 14 kills on 46 swings with four attack errors to hit .217 while Zak and Schmidtberger tallied 12 kills each, Hebert led the Bulldogs with 35 assists on the night while Zak led all players with 20 digs for a double-double. The Bulldogs hit .152 as a team with 45 kills on 145 swings with 23 attack errors to go along with 40 assists, three service aces, 54 digs and seven total blocks on the night.

The Lady Buffs returns to Lone Star Conference action on Tuesday night as they travel down Highway 60 to face off with the rival Greyhounds of Eastern New Mexico with first serve set for 7:00 p.m. CT from Portales, New Mexico. ENMU is 6-9 overall this season with a 0-5 mark in Lone Star Conference play.
