PORTALES, New Mexico – The Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M hit just .146 as a team with 24 attack errors as they fell to the rival Greyhounds of Eastern New Mexico (20-25, 16-25, 25-17, 20-25) on Tuesday night at Greyhound Arena in Portales, New Mexico. ENMU snaps an 18 match losing streak to the Lady Buffs who fall to 7-9 (1-5 LSC) while the Greyhounds improve to 7-9 (1-5 LSC) on the season.
The Lady Buffs were led by Curl who tied a match high with 15 kills on 52 swings with nine attack errors to hit just .115 on the night followed by Montgomery, Davis and
Cori Haley with six kills each, Jackson guided the WT offense with 35 assists on the night while Montgomery led the way with 14 digs for the Lady Buffs. WT hit just .146 as a team with 45 kills on 144 swings with 24 attack errors to go along with 41 assists, seven service aces, 58 digs and eight total blocks in the match.
Eastern New Mexico was led by Biel with 15 kills on 25 swings with just one attack error to hit an impressive .560 on the night followed by Frye with 14 kills and Dietz with 10, Aguirre led all players with 47 assists on the night while Aguilar tallied a match high 20 digs. The Greyhounds hit .245 as a team with 55 kills on 147 swings with 19 attack errors to go along with 50 assists, six service aces, 63 digs and just five total blocks on the night.
NEXT TIME OUTThe Lady Buffs returns to Canyon this weekend for a Saturday triangular with Texas A&M-Kingsville and Newman at the WTAMU Fieldhouse "The Box". WT will take on the Javelinas in LSC action starting at 12:00 p.m. followed by an TAMUK/NU matchup at 3:30 p.m. before the Lady Buffs and Jets wrap-up action starting at 7:00 p.m.
