CANYON, Texas – The 2015 Opening Weekend of Lone Star Conference softball action will not begin Sunday and Monday as originally planned for the #1 Lady Buffs of West Texas A&M following the cancellation of this weekend's four-game series in Stephenville against Tarleton State announced by the TSU Athletic Department on Friday afternoon.
 
The Tarleton State Athletic Department has cancelled the weekend series due to unplayable field conditions stemming from inclement weather in the Dallas/Fort Worth area during the past several days. Lone Star Conference rules state that league games cannot be made up, so the only possible meetings this season between WT and the TexAnns would be the LSC Tournament or the NCAA Postseason.
 
The Lady Buffs will now open-up league play next weekend as they are set to host the rival Mustangs of Midwestern State in a Highway 287 Challenge matchup at Schaeffer Park in Canyon with a doubleheader set for 5 p.m. on Friday night followed by the final two games of the series coming on Saturday with first pitch set for 1 p.m. For continuing coverage, stay tuned to GoBuffsGo.com.
