WICHITA, Kansas – The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs picked up their third straight victory and their second of the day on Saturday night as they powered past the Newman Jets (25-16, 25-22, 25-18) at Fugate Gymnasium in Wichita, Kansas. The Lady Buffs improve to 14-15 on the season while the Jets fall to 21-8 overall.
The Lady Buffs were led offensively by Curl with 15 kills on 40 swings with four attack errors to hit .275 on the night followed by
Cori Haley with nine kills and
Lexi Davis with eight, Jackson guided the WT offense with 35 assists on the night while Britten tallied 19 digs in the win. WT hit .312 as a team with 38 kills on 109 swings with just eight attack errors to go along with 37 assists, three aces, 48 digs and six total blocks in the match.
Newman was led offensively by Ashley Gonzalez with 10 kills on 21 attempts with five errors to hit .238 on the night while Litts guided the Jets offense with 30 assists to go along with 14 digs for the double-double. The Jets hit .125 as a team with 38 kills on 120 swings with 23 attack errors to go along with 38 assists, three service aces, 47 digs and just two total blocks in the match.
