WICHITA, Kansas – The West Texas A&M Lady Buffs snapped a three game win streak as they were topped in straight sets by the defending South Central Regional Champion Lions of Arkansas-Fort Smith (25-22, 25-23, 25-13) on Saturday afternoon at Fugate Gymnasium in Wichita, Kansas. The Lady Buffs fall to 14-16 on the season while the Lions win their 21
st straight contest to move to 22-3 on the year.
The Lady Buffs were led offensively by Curl with eight kills on 35 swings with eight errors to hit .000 while Haley and Bentsen had six kills each, Jackson guided the WT offense with 15 assists while Schulz had 11 in the match while Britten led the team with 15 digs in the contest. The Lady Buffs hit just .120 as a team with 32 kills on 125 swings with 17 attack errors to go along with 30 assists, one ace, 61 digs and six blocks in the match.
Arkansas-Fort Smith was led offensively by Coleman with 13 kills on 36 swings with four errors to hit .250 on the night while Thompson registered 11 kills, Mills guided the Lions offense with a match high 37 assists to go along with 14 digs for the double-double while Tripp led all players with 17 digs on the night. The Lions hit .214 as a team with 50 kills on 140 swings with 20 attack errors to go along with 45 assists, three service aces, 71 digs and just four blocks.
